The tranquility of the countryside is interrupted by the sound of a loud shot. Bernarda, an 82-year-old woman, lives and has lived all her life in a peasant house in the middle of the mountains, a place that for some time has become the scene of conflict, of a war that is not against her, but due to the circumstances she now lives in the middle of it. Although the people from the village have left and the constant calls from her daughter warn of the danger to her life, Bernarda has made the decision to stay at home as an act of peaceful resistance to that war that she does not see, but feel.
