Fighting at school and unhappy at home with her pregnant mother and drunken stepdad, petulant, tomboyish teen Ainur (Kislova) quits high school. She aimlessly bounces around Almaty, the former capital of Kazakhstan, encountering a cross-section of the population as she goes.
